What are the Hydraulic Cylinder Types?
SINGLE ACTING HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS
It is a type of cylinder in which the hydraulic fluid acts on the piston from one direction. The return of the piston to its rear position is achieved by external forces (spring, weight, etc.).
DOUBLE ACTING HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS
It is a type of cylinder in which the hydraulic fluid acts on the piston from both directions. The forward and backward movement of the piston is provided by the effect of pressurized fluid. Since work is generally required in both directions in applications, it is the most frequently used type of cylinder.
TELESCOPIC HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS
It is used in places where high stroke is required. The most important reason for preference is that they do not take up much space. It consists of pistons of different diameters placed inside each other. It is generally done as a single action. It is used very frequently in construction machines and dump vehicles.
CUSHIONED HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS
Impact occurs at the end of the piston stroke, especially when the piston speed exceeds 6 m/min and when moving heavy objects. These pulses reduce the operating life of circuit elements. It may also cause the work done to be unorganized. For this reason, impact is definitely an undesirable feature in hydraulic systems. In such cases, cylinders are used to prevent impacts by slowing down the piston speed at the end of the stroke. This type of cylinders are called padded cylinders. Cushioning process; It is provided with a cushioning bush and a cushioning trunnion with a tapered end. At the end of the course, the section through which the fluid passes is narrowed and the velocity decreases. Padded cylinders can be padded on one or both sides.
ROTARY CYLINDERS
Rotating cylinders, also called angular engines, are used to obtain angular rotation movements of 90,180,270,360 degrees. There are toothed or winged types.
GEAR TYPE ROTARY CYLINDER
A rack and pinion gear has been drilled into the piston rod. As a result of the back-and-forth movement of the piston, it rotates a rack-toothed spur or helical gear on the piston rod, creating angular movement.
WING TYPE ROTARY CYLINDER
The fluid sent into the cylinder causes the wing to rotate. Hydraulic fluid is applied on the other hand for the backward movement of the wing. Thus, angular rotation movement is achieved. Vane type rotary cylinders are not used at high torques.

Cleanliness class according to ISO Standard The maximum contamination level of hydraulic fluid is ISO 4406 (c) class 20/18/15. The specified cleanliness classes must be maintained for components in the hydraulic system. Effective filtering prevents errors and extends the life of components.
Application Conditions for Hydraulic Cylinder Manufacturing:
»The movement axes and connection points of the hydraulic cylinder and piston rod must be mechanically aligned. Lateral loads on the piston rod and piston bearings should be avoided. The weight of the hydraulic cylinder or piston rod must be taken into account.
»The buckling length and buckling load of the piston rod and/or hydraulic cylinder must be taken into account.
»The compatibility of the sealing elements with the liquid should be taken into account at maximum piston speed.
»Maximum working pressure must be observed in every operation of the hydraulic cylinder.
»Adverse effects such as aggressive fine particles, vapors, high temperature and compressed air pollution should be avoided.
Hydraulic Cylinder Manufacturing Materials:
The cylinder tube is made of honed St52Bk + S material. The piston rod is made of Ck45 material with a surface plated with hard chrome of at least 20 µm at a tolerance of f7.
Scale:
Each cylinder is subjected to internal and external leakage testing according to the Ppap File prepared before being shipped, in accordance with Hidroman standards and ISO 10100 standards.
Warranty and Service:
Hydraulic cylinders in Hidroman Production are under our company's 2-year warranty. Additionally, service and spare parts support is provided for 10 years. Errors caused by user errors and improper working conditions are not covered by the warranty.
Service and repair activities are carried out by Hidroman personnel. In case of any damage that may occur during the installation of the product into the system and product interventions made by persons other than Hidroman personnel for repair and maintenance purposes, the product warranty will be cancelled.
