Hydraulic cylinder
Hydraulic Cylinders: Powerful and Various Uses
Hydraulic systems are one of the important products widely used in today's industry. Hydraulic cylinders, one of the basic components of hydraulic systems, are strongly involved in many industrial and mobile applications. We will examine what hydraulic cylinders are, how they work, and their various uses in different industries.
What is a Hydraulic Cylinder?
Hydraulic cylinders are a type of hydraulic actuator that produces linear mechanical movement under the action of hydraulic pressure. These devices, which generally have a cylindrical body, enable the piston to move forward and backward with the hydraulic fluid pressure inside them. This movement is often used to transfer force and motion.
How does it work?
Hydraulic cylinders are based on Pascal's principle. This principle states that pressure in a closed system is transmitted equally in all directions. In a hydraulic system, hydraulic fluid pressure moves the piston inside the cylinder by pushing or pulling it. This piston movement creates a linear movement from one end of the cylinder to the other.
Industrial Uses
There are many applications where hydraulic cylinders are widely used in various industries. Here are some of them:
Construction and Building Industry: Hydraulic cylinders are frequently used in large machines such as cranes, excavators and construction equipment. The power of hydraulic cylinders is used in operations such as lifting, carrying and digging of these machines.
Automotive Industry: In the automotive industry, hydraulic cylinders are used in many applications such as vehicle suspension systems and braking systems. They are also frequently found in automatic transmissions and steering systems.
Agricultural Industry: Hydraulic cylinders play an important role in agricultural equipment such as farm machines, tractors and harvesters. Hydraulic power is used to perform various functions of these machines.
Energy Sector: Hydraulic cylinders are also widely used in facilities used in energy production such as dam gates, wind turbines and hydroelectric facilities.
How to Install Hydraulic Cylinder?
How to install hydraulic cylinder? There's a lot that automation and robots can do, but there's also a lot that can't be done with technology. One of these tasks is the assembly of hydraulic cylinders. In this blog post we will explain the assembly process. At Hydroline, our professionals take care of the process and although it sounds very simple when put into words, it actually requires careful concentration and expertise.
Each piece is carefully washed and protected before the assembly process begins. The purity level of each part is inspected by a washer and an assembler. Washing results and washed parts are sampled daily and their cleanliness is checked in our own cleaning laboratory. The washing chemistry of our washing machines is regularly examined along with the cleaning of the washing solution. We also have an ultrasonic cleaner for small and delicate parts.
All components and parts are carefully inspected before being ready for use. An experienced specialist can feel and see even the smallest impurities, dents or scratches on surfaces. Every component must look, feel and weigh right. Our assemblers check the cleanliness of each piece before starting to put it together. We regularly use gravimetric analysis to ensure the cleanliness of our components.
Hydraulic cylinder assembly process
1. Once all parts and components have been inspected and checked for cleanliness, the actual assembly process can begin. First, the seals are placed in place (for piston, cylinder head, etc.) together with the bearing and snap ring.
2. The piston and cylinder head are attached to the rod.
3. Seals are lubricated around the piston and cylinder head.
4. Once the rod is assembled with each component, the entire package is ready to be installed on the tube.
5. Cleanliness is a top priority every step of the way and at every point of the installation surfaces are kept clean and properly wiped down if necessary.
6. The pipe is also inspected visually - also from the inside with light - and after that the tube is clamped horizontally on an assembly bench, a bearing is installed and the pipe is properly lubricated from the inside.
7. The rod is carefully slid into the tube, the piston end first.
8. Torque is adjusted according to customer needs.
9. After the actual assembly of the pipe and rod is ready, the bearings and grease nipples are installed.
Conclusion
Hydraulic cylinders are an important hydraulic component that is powerful and has a variety of uses. It is widely used in many fields, from industrial machinery to agricultural equipment. These devices are an essential tool for improving efficiency, delivering power and providing precise motion control.
